Rhyan is a full-time community college English professor at Northern Virginia Community College. He holds a Master of Arts degree in English from Chapman University in Southern California. He is from Sacramento, California, spent five years living in Orange County, and now currently resides in Washington DC.

Rhyan has a passion for helping students use writing to express themselves. Rhyan’s Writing Room was founded in 2024 with the goal of creating a supportive environment for students to write in. Beyond just the end goal of admission to a university, Rhyan believes that the process of writing a college essay can be a tool for self-discovery, and he hopes that you will let him support your students on that journey.

Rhyan works closely with each client to design custom packages that suit their needs. He specializes in college essay consulting, but has also helped students apply to veterinary school, nursing school, scholarships, and fellowships. He runs private creative writing lessons for youth, as well as offers extensive English tutoring and editing services. All of his packages are available virtually.
